I would like to announce that we've launched a fashion oriented online fashion site "www.lamodarabia.com" and actually still working on it as I write this. we're gonna focus on local, regional and international designer collections, interviews, fashion photography, art and fashion news, one of the major goals of the website is to give a voice to the underdogs of the fashion world who lack the media and social support. Our doors are open to everyone so please never hesitate to ask us questions on our email: lamodarabia@gmail.com. also I would like to point out that fashion bloggers are important to us at La Moda Arabia so if you are one we wanna check your blog out and maybe feature it to our readers in the Arab world, and since there are translation buttons on the site, non-arabic speakers can browse our content too so let's just say that the audience will be broad.

Forever 21

I don't know why the Forever 21store in Al-Khobar sucks, yes I said it! even the one in Bahrain City Center had a bad collection last time I was there, seriously how hard is it to order clothes that we can wear? I don't know who does the selections but I'm quite sure if its a man he must be a very straight one and if its a woman she clearly needs Lasik MD's help. The least you people can do is check out the site launched by Forever 21 and chose the items that fit our market, our girls and the current trends..for a change hire people who know what their job is about..in fact why not get assistance from the Forever 21 store in Dubai Mall, its the best one in that city since the one in City Center is equally as bad  as ours and don't even get me started on the Festival City branch.

This is called "constructive criticism" and I hope this is how our blog will be taken..now I have a list of looks that are from this season and last season plus items I just happen to really like. Please try to bring us good merchandise so we can buy them. HELP US, HELP YOU!

Dubai Summer Aftermath

Now that I'm finally settled back again at home, I can write this short report about my whole month in Dubai and all I can say is that it felt like being reunited with your soul if you can imagine such a thing. I had an amazing time with old friends and new friends and of course at the Dubai Mall, I went there for inspiration so I can design some outfits we were asked to present for the fashion workshop, ummm OK, so I did more shopping than research! what can I do, those beautiful clothes and shoes were staring at me all day long. anyhow, let me get to the point because this isn't a diary. I will make this easier by posting pictures with captions of the whole month.

Collection Dilemma

We've been asked to create 5 outfits by the end of nxt week and I haven't started sketching yet! anyhow, I'm goin to dubai mall tomorrow morning to take a look at my favorite shops one by one, hopefully I will get inspired somehow.

The theme of my collection is very 1960s so basically it will have to look a bit vintage/daring/rebellious and chic. I have found some beautiful outfits over the internet and will use them for extra help when I need to remember some details.

Our Photoshoots

Even though I'm all for photography that is raw and real I pretty much enjoy made up realities, why? because its amazing to create and then capture that moment..plus I believe that artistic photography is more expressive, it lets the photographer show you what she/he thinks and feels instead of just taking random pix that might not necessarily come out of an idea he's trying to make you understand.. FYI: this is my personal opinion so please if you're a photographer and felt offended, don't take it personally because I'm sure there are many people who don't like my type of photos ;)

I'm back in my lovely Dubai for Esmod Summer Fashion Design Workshop, I must say we're working non-stop and all I think of during the week is our home work/ projects. Honestly I thought it was gonna be a piece of cake..little did I know -weeps- anyhow, at the end it will be worth it! so far I like the university, teacher and class-mates, the lessons have been very useful and creative..I simply love being around smart people who have their own vision about what they want out of life, I find it energizing and very inspiring. I will try to post some of the work we do plus I need to post the photographs from the exhibition soon.
